Tournament of Nations featuring the Women’s National teams for USA, Australia, Japan & Brazil. Perfect weather day fot this doubleheader.

Japan & Brazil underway in the 1st game. Sparse crowd (but hey, it’s the Rent). Should be much better for USA vs. Australia tonight.

Brazil wins 1st game 2-1

USA vs Australia starting at 7pm (also televised on FoxSports1). Good crowd - lower bowl is near full.

Especially considering it's mid summer. Rock concerts can ruin the turf.

YHGTBSM!! They're having a concert on the field after the games tonight?

Plus, Mid-summer? Octoberfest beers are on store shelves and real football will be played on that turf in 30 days.

Announced attendance 21,570

And I’m the only one wearing any UConn gear. It’s a lot like football season.

Saw Sam Adams Octoberfest at a Walmart (It wasn't on the shelf from last year).

There are bags of candy pumpkins at the grocery store. We are THIS close to being through the living hell that is summer.

Was back to school shopping at JC Penney yesterday (Believe it or not, soon to be freshman daughter and her classmates like their stuff) and the store was playing Christmas music inside.

There was not a concert after the soccer matches. Doesn't seem like the soccer peeps fudge their attendance #'s. Lower bowl was totally full (even the chair backs seats) and there were about 4-5k in the upper bowl, almost all between the 25 yard lines. I was surprised when the announced attendance was only 21.5k. Lots of energy in the stadium and no one left early (match only taking 2 hours helps) which was a good thing because USA scored in last seconds to tie the match and the place went crazy.

Or Taylor Swift concerts for that matter. The Meadowlands pitch looked horrible after she was done with it.

I was happy to see the PAWS-ARF pitch looking so nice. I didn't think it looked so good at that Hurley reception in May.

And I hope we have more gimmick games. The more the merrier. You out-of-staters can lump it.
