I noticed a lot of folks complaining about not being able to read Courant links, and there are certainly plenty of other sites like Wall Street Journal, etc.
However, those sites generally treat traffic from Google differently, so there's a script you can setup as a local Bookmark in your browser which will find the article on Google and then get you in that way. Here it is:
However, those sites generally treat traffic from Google differently, so there's a script you can setup as a local Bookmark in your browser which will find the article on Google and then get you in that way. Here it is:
javascript:location.href='https://www.google.com/webhp?#q=' + encodeURIComponent(location.href) + '&btnI=I'
So now when you get to the Courant (or wherever) and it won't let you read it, you just click your bookmark, and it either redirects you right to the page, or brings you to the Google link, where you can click it and get in. I've had this work for the Courant for some time now.
