Bossi’s take: Through two weekends of EYBL play, Vegas Elite is the lone undefeated team on the circuit and they’ve got a deep, balanced and talented roster. Big man Aiden Sherrell has been one of many standouts and he appears to be right on the verge of making a big leap forward. A long and wiry 6-foot-9 power forward, Sherrell is starting to find the right balance between his inside and outside game. He can run the floor, he’s bouncy around the rim and he’s a dangerous mid post shooter and driver. He does need to find ways to better use his length to advantage on the glass but it’s hard to watch and not see his upside.
He has bounced around some in high school but his talent has made Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, California, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Michigan State, Memphis, Oklahoma, UConn, USC and others more than comfortable with offering scholarships. If he can put it all together consistently, Sherrell could compete for the national top 25.
