I realize this is only a 2 game skid here, but our offense has just been so poor the last 2 games. Part of the reason we did well on the road is because Polley was playing extremely well and scoring. Obviously, teams have switched up the way they play him on defense, but I can't help but think that part of his problem may also be confidence. I wonder if inserting him in the starting lineup over Adams would help spark us. Adams has been sub-par at best, and it's not like his defense is a reason to keep him in the lineup, because from my own eye test, it has been pretty bad. He is constantly getting blown by on D.
The question is, if we insert Polley for Adams, can Martin play the 2 and stay in front of a quick gaurd? Clearly Polley's defense isn't good either, but his offense is a boost over Adams. If defensive matchup's is the reason for keeping Adams in there, I get it. I also don't think Gaffney is the answer as the starting 2 guard, because his skillset is definitely better suited for pg play.
Maybe there is no better alternative here until we get Jackson and Bouk back.

polley can neither guard opposing SGs nor play like one on the offensive end. he can shoot but he cant pass or make plays off the dribble. i think our best offensive lineup is cole/gaff/polley/martin/sanogo.

the problem is gaff. he has to start giving us something. we were expecting him to be 6th man and to help win us some games heading into the season.

I would just start Gaffney over Adams. You're not losing much and Gaffney is a better ball handler and can set up the offense. Polley can be the first one off the bench but Hurley shouldn't wait until the 10 minute mark to put him in and should take him out immediately if he's playing defense like he has been

He can’t play off the ball in the half court either. We keep calling plays for him but he can’t get open. He’s like a transition 3 point specialist, who can get hot and make some contested 3s in the half court. I just wish he gave us something else like anything else. It’s hard to justify keeping him on the court. I expect him to lose a bunch of minutes when AJ returns because AJ can do everything other than what Polley does.

Starters should stay the same, rotations should depend on how people are playing. For instance, if Polley and Carlton don’t start playing better I see no reason to give them 10+

We were up 19-7 against the Johnnies with this line up only thing that changed that was a hockey line change.

Polley I love when he comes off the bench and makes shots so need him to do that. Gaffney made his 2 best plays of the year the other day but also made some bad plays. Adams a much better defender and had 9 rebounds Saturday so keep him there for now but need more offense from him. Need to beat them up inside tomorrow but it would be nice to make some perimeter shots again, besides RJ that is who’s been fine.

Man this is a big game.
