Staff comparing him to Sherman....Nice....

I would love to see a Sherman 2.0. However, I'm getting confused by the style of offense that we are going to run. Have seen too many fullbacks carrying the ball/even being on the field in a spread/passing attack.

Maybe GDL is really a mastermind and has been drawing up a new offense that will take the world by storm. Then again...

The most important thing we need from a fb, and what we miss the most about Sherman, is blocking. Too many times last season the fb's got stood up in the hole on run plays or completely whiffed on pass blocks.

And what a great player Sherman was. Demon on specials, great pass and run blocker, excellent receiver out of the backfield, and a solid runner when called upon. Miss his presence on the team, he really set the tone.

It didn't look like Walsh was used on offense much at Hand, and when he was, he was used as a bruising runner. Hopefully with an offseason, and likely redshirt season, dedicated to playing one position he will come out in 2014 and give UCONN a lift at FB.
