Jose didn't even get to do his usual pattern of "win big one year, absolute disaster the next" as perfected at Chelsea by winning the league in 14-15 and getting sacked before Christmas of the 15-16 season.

His whole tenure was just a long slow disappointment. The fact that they won the Europa League and League Cup under Mourinho is kinda perfect. Those competitions are pale shadows of the Champions League and FA Cup just as Mourinho's United was a pale shadow of what Ferguson's United was.

It isn't even fun hating United anymore. City has basically taken their old role as the measuring stick for other English teams.

At least there's the old standby of hating Spurs.
