Kiah had surgery to repair torn tendon that bothered her during the year.

Saw info on tweet and Kaleena also tweeted that Kiah had surgery today.

    From UCONN's official press release:

University of Connecticut freshman center Kiah Stokes had surgery on Friday morning to repair a torn tendon in her right foot that became problematic during the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

The university announced in a press release that the procedure took place at the UConn Health Center in Farmington, and the surgery was successful. Stokes is expected to return to normal athletic activity before the start of the 2012-13 academic year.

The bad news is that surgery of any kind is obviously not ideal. but the good news is that apparently she will be good to go come August, and hopefully will be back to normal by Oct/Nov (maybe even better than since the tendon bothered her in the NCAA's but she was still able to perform)

Get well Kiah. On another injury note I read on Tiffany's twitter page that she broke her nose and had a fat lip. She isn't anxious to wear a mask but doensn't have to while practicing. Hope that doesn't hurt her chances of making the Dream team.

And thus most likely the presence of the boot protecting it prior to surgery.

Exactly. I had forgotten about Tiff's boot until I saw that pic at the Capitol, but seeing Kiah with a boot as well was disturbing. Hopefully, the surgery was 100% successful.

Best wishes to Kiah. She really developed well last year and will be a tremendous asset to an uber talented team next year.

UCONN scares me next year!! Holy cow! What a roster of talent.

Well, this answers my question of why she was wearing a boot
in that photo in the governor's office.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Kiah.

I will be surprised if it's anyone but UCONN and Baylor in the NC Final playing for all the marbles....

Lauren also had surgery, on her ankle. Torn tendons, ankle surgery, broken noses, stress fractures -- and that doesn't take into account Caroline's well-documented medical history.

These kids are tough, a quality I admire.
