Izzo is a great coach and I like him- their fans not so much- but Izzo is an example of everything that is right about college basketball.

Kinda think he just wanted to get his walk ons into the game (one of whom banked in a 3). But either way, a class move.

Hmm, I watched the postgame press conferences on ESPN, and I thought I heard Izzo specifically state that calling a timeout was not to allow UConn fans to celebrate but to get his walk-ons in the game. That would be an unusually generous thing for an opposing coach to do.

However, I second the other positive comments made about Tom Izzo. Payne is a nice guy, too.

it was NOT to allow Uconn fans to celebrate. Daigneault corrected his tweet. sounded weird.

I hope that Izzo realizes that he belongs in college. many pundits claim that there is a reasonable chance that he will take the Piston job. It would be a huge mistake if this were true.

I find it hard to believe he was thinking of UConn fans in those last 6 seconds.

Yeah, true. Quite enjoyed UNC fans giving them the business at the Final Four in 2009 because their fans were such giant s.

Much respect for Izzo regardless - he's been a great tourney coach. Says a lot for KO (despite the home court) that he's 2-0 against him, 1-0 in the big dance.

Izzo may get outcoached often (I don't know), but he's been to 6 Final Fours, so the man knows how to win a regional.

Big ups to KO.

Izzo is the closest thing to Jim Calhoun. I always liked him.

Izzo is awesome. At the Ramstein game last year it was pretty clear that Izzo and his wife were pretty close with Calhoun. A lot of mutual respect there. I have nothing but respect for MSU.

Every opponents fans are obnoxious including us. It is just the way it is.
I work with a guy from LA. He loves the Raiders, Dodgers and UCLA and loves (loved) to talk sports. He told me today he never had an opinion of UConn before he met me but he's learning to hate the Huskies... I thought I was converting him.
