Going into the tourney, both Bria and Stef appear almost certain to set new marks for minutes played by UConn players all-time. They are also in a survival of the fittest battle for this year's minutes leader, which is a nice testament to both players after the physical issues they had last year. Stef has an 8 minute lead of 1083 to 1075 for 2013-14, but Bria has shaved 10 minutes from Stef's lead in the last 5 games. Both players have increased their mpg average hugely during the last month as Geno has gone more to a 6 player rotation and pushed the mpg for the two to the 34-36 range in the last five games.

Bria now seems likely to greatly eclipse Maya's career record of 4682 minutes. She is at 4532 and averaging 31.6 mpg, so even with just 30.0 in five games she would tie Maya. Between the early tourney 1st round blowout and easy 2nd round game and then four standard tourney games if all goes right, Bria should average probably about 36 minutes, which would get her to 4748 minutes, 66 more than Maya.

Stef is now at 3932 and is averaging 31.9 mpg. She could become the first UConn post player to break the 4000 minute barrier in the 2nd round game, but more likely it will wait to the 3rd game with an early exit for her in 1st round game. At maybe 35 mpg for the tourney, Stef would project to 4142 and finish 9 minutes ahead of Jen for 7th place among all-time Huskies.

I guess both Bria and Stef have given us our money's worth.
