With the three undefeated AAC teams playing tonight, who looks the part of the top dog in the AAC? They're definitely three solid teams. Houston gets a ton of TO's. I am leaning toward Memphis. They have a lot of speed on the field on both sides of the ball. The QB has a cannon for an arm and they have playmakers all over the place. This could be a pretty fun race to the championship.

I would take Memphis because of the QB. But boy, they are an undisciplined, stupid team. I would be very worried that some sort of stupid personal foul penalty would cost them a game.

Houston since I've had them from the beginning.

I feel like Houston will lose when they fail to force TO's against a solid team. They have a tough schedule to end the season - the only solace is that we're the only road opponent.

Houston. They're smoking everyone. Haven't really played any tough teams (toughest game so far might be Louisville) but they've got a great team. Either way, it looks like either Houston or Memphis is going to run the table which would be awesome. Can you imagine if the AAC crashed the CFB playoff???

I don't think Houston can get the street cred needed, UL and Vandy don't impress anyone. I would say that the best shot is Memphis if they run the table and bonus if Ole Miss can either get to or win the SEC champ game.

Defense is young and stupid. Ricky Hunter is good for at least 1 personal a game. I really hate that.

They're talented enough of a team that the personal foul penalties don't hurt them against most of their schedule. But against Houston or Temple, they could. And definitely in whatever bowl game the play.

The Sec would have a major Ole Miss problem... They really only have Lsu left to worry about before the SEC title game. They already have the tie breaker against Alabama. But what kind of Chaos would there be if they win the SEC and Memphis is still undefeated.

Houston has a test coming up that won't be too easy with Cincy at home. If Cincinnati doesn't turn it over that could be a very tight game.

Navy is undefeated in league as well. Don't forget them.
If they can find a way to keep Memphis from doing too much damage on the scoreboard, they'dbe in control of their destiny...

Oddly enough, UConn might actually play a B1G role in who plays for the AAC Championship.

Yes but if Houston beats Memphis they get credit for beating the team that knocked off Ol Miss. My gut says Houston goes all the way but it will be a doosy. Those Black uniforms with the Red Chome helmets are serious and worth at least an extra TD.

Good point. That should be a high octane game. Cincy is better than their record.

If Memphis goes undefeated -- a huge if -- they would have beaten Ole MIss, and then, friggin consecutively, Navy, Temple, Houston and Temple again. They would, at 13-0, have to be seriously considered over any team that isn't undefeated. They would almost certainly have more high quality wins than almost anyone.

I don't worry about selections, or being cheated out of being selected, until the season is over. Just way too many permultations to worry about.

Oh -- and the answer to the question is Temple, because they will be in the AAC Championship Game, while the fight among Houston, Memphis and Navy is a crap shoot

I'm starting to think that Florida wins the SEC title against whoever comes out of the West. That defense is unbelievable and Kelvin Taylor might be one the most underrated backs in college football. In that instance, a one loss Florida team gets into the final four

If Memphis goes undefeated, Justin Fuentes agent will be a very happy person. He will no doubt have plenty of choices. Unfortunately in this game you have to strike when the iron is hot. It will take a boat load to keep him in Memhis.

Fuentes took on Memphis at age 35 and has a bunch of ex head coaches on his staff:

As TCU's former offensive coordinator, Fuente took the Memphis job at 35, unafraid of managing a staff of ex-head coaches to help him fill in experience. With the addition of former Tulsa coach Bill Blankenship (Fuente's high school coach in Oklahoma) as an offensive analyst in the offseason, the Memphis staff has four ex-head coaches: Blankenship, Darrell Dickey (North Texas), James Shibest (Butler Community College) and Brent Guy (Utah State). That's by design.

"I felt like it was important to hire someone that had been a head coach on staff," Fuente remarked. "Someone had thought about all the things I was going to deal with. I knew how we were going to practice, how offseason would work, how our days were going to look. I walked in ready to go because I loved the way we did it at TCU. But I knew enough to know things would come along I hadn’t thought of. I’m comfortable with it. It doesn't bother me. They’re comfortable enough in their skin, comfortable voicing an opinion. And I'll make a final decision. and we'll go out and make it work."

Bob Diaco has surrounded himself with seasoned coaches as well.

I have to go with Memphis to come out on top of that choice of three - because Houston and Temple are on our schedule, and I like the idea of spoiling their seasons, on our way to success in ours, much like University of New Jersey's dreams of a BCS game turned to a nightmare because of the Huskies of Connecticut in the not too distant past.

Just a hunch but I like Temple after the showing against ND and embarrassing PSU at their house...Sr laden and wily ''Russell Wilson type'' winner at QB in PJ Walker...I think they all end up with a loss but i love Temples grit....and never sleep on the precision like and intelligent play of Navy. Great FB in the American this yr and they look more P5 than the ACC too me and many others...an exciting league.

There are two things I want:

1) Playoff disruption, and
2) To go to a bowl game

If we beat Houston at home and Temple has already lost, I have to go with Memphis by default.
