Happy Birthday Harry A. Gampel Pavilion

January 27th, 1990 Harry A. Gampel Pavilion opened. We played #15 St. John's to open the building in front of about 8500 fans after moving over from the Field House for on campus games. That night was awesome and that team was amazing - setting the stage for everything that came after. Definitely need a piece of that original Gampel floor when they replace it in a few months. I got the stub, but I don't recall getting a t-shirt. Were you a student then? Maybe it was just students.

Freshman year at Uconn for me -living in jungle. Was at that game -this was the Dream Season year.

Yes it was a big deal then we got so good everyone wished it could seat more people. Lots of great memories. Even though we lost it was still pretty loud on Wednesday.

Now I feel cheated . . . 33 years later.

I still have a Husky Threes t-shirt that they used to throw into the stands. It's starting to wear out, but I must have another dozen UConn tees.

Not many shirts I don't have - a red one (thunk it was SNET) with autographs and a dunkin with autographs.
Also have multiple sets of all the basketball card sets handed out
