How did Isiah Thomas get into the Griner-Johnson discussion?
There were rumors of a Cage Match with the three. Probably just off season publicity of course but don't let Rocky find out. Just kidding Rocky!
Amazing and sad though the league would not be in the news this time of year if it were not for negative reasons.

From what little I know about their situation, this didn't appear to be domestic "abuse" to me. I wonder how important the WNBA is to Griner. Unless she needs it as an exposure platform in order to make money in the USA off her 'brand', she could consider telling the WNBA to take a hike and rest up for the money-earning part of her career overseas like Taurasi is doing.

... Two to four games seems more appropriate.
Four games? Wasn't that already explained on another thread?

I'm glad the punishment is severe because I want BG to get the help she needs with her anger and if this is what it takes then so be it.

She does seem to have some anger issues and it would be great to get them worked out.

This. What we're seeing here is the WNBA kowtowing to a whole bunch of crocodile tears about female perpetrators of domestic violence. Female abusers exist and those situations should be taken very seriously, but there's no evidence to suggest that this is a pattern of abuse. Anyone pretending not to get the difference between the Griner-Johnson situation and Ray Rice knocking his much smaller wife unconscious are being disingenuous.
More likely a example of someone not able to handle their liquor?

Well, no, I don't really think the presence of alcohol is relevant, although alcohol abuse is sometimes (frequently?) associated with domestic abuse. But yeah, I think if they got into a bar fight, this would be a game or two, not seven.
