The worst food I've ever ate was at Geno's "Fast Break" at Mohegan Sun. My Philly Steak (what else would you order?) was half frozen. My wife broke her tooth on a chicken sandwich. Yes, it's going to be a long, long time before I go to any place just because it has Geno's name on it. Sorry Geno, stick to basketball...

How many restaurants does Geno own? There was one on campus, one at the casino and now two in Manchester right? Any others?

For those of you who have eaten at one or more of Geno's joints, how do they stack up?

The one is Southington down the road from ESPN is gone too, don't think it lasted more than a couple of years.

The Hollow, in the necessity to honor Auriemma's Philadelphia roots, has a cheesesteak.

does he own these restaurants or does he just allow them to use his name for some notoriety hoping to attract Uconn fans who are everywhere....sounds like Geno is making business decisions with his name

I think he is or was more involved beyond licensing use of his name. There are videos out there of him in the kitchen talking to the chef and taste testing, and he's talked about the type of dining experience he was going for when building out Cafe Aura. Seems like he is more hands on than just collecting a NIL check.

I read that local chef Corey Wry is running the kitchen, he's put out a lot of tasty food in Manchester. This place could be good. It's a nice room.

Has he ever opened a pizza joint?
Not sure, latest rumour is a fast food restaurant called GenoDonald's. Will feature the McGeno, the McGeno rib, Nona fries, and a McKathy shake.

Maybe he can build a stage in the parking lot and he can sing some Karaoke or invite the customers to do that. Or, have local musicians play outside. Maybe some Boneyarders who can sing or play music can perform there.

This is not such a novel idea. A local non-profit, video store that used to have live indoor entertainment pre-pandemic, now built a stage at one part of the lot and musicians play there from late April through late October. Not national acts but locals who rely on tips from the audience. I don't think the non-profit video store pays them. No karaoke there yet.

We stopped by the Hollow tonight to check it out and it was very plain looking. Serving comfort foods and the wait staff was very friendly. Not real busy for 630. Looks like any other 19th hole restaurant............Hope they do well.......Not our type place........I was looking for a Upscale Country Club bar room and restaurant......
