When I watched it live (on my tv), I didn't realize that A'ja (The Best Basketball Player in America ) had even attempted to jump. I thought she already knew that she was going to lose the tip (and she would have been right!!!!)

Great pictures again @dannykuconn !!!!

Jumping the tip is like rebounding................timing. This picture is a case in point. 5'11" out jumping 6'5" who was late off the floor...........too late. Gabby is already 12" off the floor while both of Wilson's feet are still on the floor..............timing!!! This photo pretty much summarizes the game. SC was looking up at UConn the entire evening. Speaking "timing", look who's coming to dinner this summer..........

Thanks Danny.

Another BY'er suggested that he knew the game was over as soon as Gabby won the tip from Wilson. I wasn't quite that confident, but I loved the fact that Gabby exploded off the floor to win the tip.
Thanks for the photo

When I watched it I was wondering why they didn't have A'ja jumping for it since it looked so easy for Gabby.

This is where the WOW! began, and built up from there!

This where the bad play-by-play announcing started. Neither Amin or Lawson addressed Gabby out-jumping Aja and the outrageous disparity in height. Passing up on that exciting moment was inexcusable. They were probably reading ahead and studying the Aja Wilson biography that the ESPN producers wanted them to recite cover to cover.

Isn't the opening jump ball now a meaningless activity since they trade quarterly possession thereafter? They might as well flip a coin before the game.

Aja. The game was over when she never even tried to jump vs Gabby on the first play of the game. Can you imagine what Gene would say to his center if she never even jumped. Aja was intimidated, enough said.

Beautiful. A'ja looks like she didn't even try.
That is a distinct possibility. Remember the USF game this year where they didn't even bother. But, assuming Aj'a WAS trying, in this shot it looks like Gabby's kneecaps are about 8" higher than A'j's. Waist about 5" higher. Higher shoulder about 3" higher, wrist about 1" higher. Awesome vs. the best player in the country.

If she gets drafted by Chicago, I'll give you regular dispatches from Wintrust Arena :)
If Chicago does draft her, I will be at Wintrust Arena! As much as possible. ;)
