Did a lot of talking about the importance of packing the rent and being loud both to help the team and make a good impression and for the perception of UConn football, especially trying to go p5.

For the p5 question basically said he gets the attachment to the big east and he gets there are downsides to changing conferences but ultimately it’s the best for the football program and athletic department to go p5

Said good players are going to get paid and if we want to get good players we need to support NIL

When they asked if he’ll be calling the plays on defense again he said how he didn’t really do it last year it was a collaborative effort and he said they had to make a lot of adjustments last year when “that one guy left.”

Open competition for qb and kicker. No guarantee they’ll announce either before NC State.

Great presentation and the coaches hung around for those that wanted to chat or get a photo. Got to talk with several including Jim.
They presented a UCONN family atmosphere that is hard to resist.
Let's hope we can pack The Dog House for UNC opener. A win in this game will start to bring the band wagoners back.

Another bit of information from Friday night that was interesting was the coach's answer to the question which player should we look for to making an impact this year:

Mora He wouldn't name any but only said if the players work hard the team will be better than last year

Charlton: The wide receivers as a group will be better this year

Shearer : The tight end transfer from TCU Alexander Honig will open some eyes as a blocking and catching tight end.

Marinelli The defensive lineman transfer from Illinois, Raashaan Wilkins, Jr will be a big addition to the defensive line.

There was talks of not having one last year. Those are cool but not really worth it when you only have 30 days of camp
It's worth it if you're trying to generate interest in the team to sell tickets. That should be a BIG priority.

it’s really not. the attendees of an open practice are the people that’ll be there August 31st anyways. There’s just not much benefit
Why is it such a common practice? That would be true for most if not all programs that run these.
