I was fortunate to get tickets for Vanderbilt at Florida at the brand new Florida Ballpark in Gainesville. Very impressive facility. Capacity is 7000 with 4000 chair backs. I was 3 rows up from the Florida dugout.

Tommy Mace was the winner over Jack Leiter. Letter wasn’t sharp as he only lasted 4 innings and gave up 3 home runs. 2 to outfielder Fabian. His top fastball was 96 and he seemed to have effective change up.

This was my first SEC baseball game but won’t be last. The ballpark rivals AA parks like DD. Concourses have videos throughout so you don’t miss any action while waiting for concessions. My only complaint was the 12oz cans of beer were $7 for domestic .

SEC ballparks are all at AA-AAA level for seating and amenities.

They treat baseball like other parts of country treat college hockey or college wrestling.
