So what does UConn do that makes them separate themselves from the pack? Why are they a dynasty, and not someone else? The game has certainly changed and evolved over the years, yet the Huskies roll on.

It is with great pleasure we welcome to the Dishin & Swishin podcast two head coaches with a Husky pedigree:

  • Jamelle Elliott, a member of the 1995 championship team, assistant coach at UConn from 1998 to 2009, and current head coach at Cincinnati
  • Tonya Cardoza, played against UConn in the NCAA tournament while with Virginia, assistant coach at UConn from 1994 to 2008 and current head coach at Temple

The duo brings the unusual perspective of former player for and against Auriemma, employee to him for many years, and now competitor in the same conference as Auriemma and the Huskies.
