I just hope this isn't a pre-pay of his buyout.

A great move all-around and also an investment in his own future. If his donations help UCONN jump to a better conference, he will likely net a big raise.

What a great example of walking the talk. When he steps up like this, it makes it much easier for UConn to hit up donors. Plus...if we ever thought that Diaco was just using UConn to land the big job....this shows that he really does care about the school. Even if he does leave in the next year or two, this kind of act shows a strong commitment to what he is doing now.

Classy guy and a great leader. (lets hope he can also fix the offense ;))

This is a watershed moment. It demonstrates to the sports world that UConn Football and its charismatic coach are worth taking a closer look at. It gets media types talking about us. It lets us cut through the clutter of media chatter. Coupled with raising his and the program's perception and image via all those radio visits, we are demonstrating that while we're not begging for attention, we are also clearly not hiding our light behind a door. He's a perfect messenger for the role. And Susan is clearly thrilled to have him carrying the message. Imagine if Hathaway--or Coach P--was still here. She's gone about her business firing the weak and ineffective, and hiring the strong and competent. Benedict and Goetz are ready to rumble. This is all further proof of how sage Kevin Ollie's message is: "In trying times you can't stop trying".

BIG THANKS to @UConnFootball head coach Bob Diaco and his wife Julia for supporting UConn's athletic facilities!

The fact that he's been noticed at other sporting events like softball is very telling of how much he believes in what he's doing and how much he's truly invested in the university. He may leave for another job in the future, but this shows his commitment to what he's saying.

This is absolutely great stuff. I am getting to be very impressed with Coach Diaco. He is definitely making positive impacts with the UConn community. And don't forget his other publicized involvement with the baseball team with the Ryan Radue cancer story, how he sent Radue multiple inspirational messages during the time when Radue was fighting that disease.

How many UConn alumni out there that have never given a dollar ? Time for them to get off their cheap butt. They do not donate, they will show only if the ticket is free. CT is still one of the wealthiest states, but you would never know it. The Husky Club has only around 7-8k members. I've donated the last 14 years, and I did not even go there. Just a loyal football fan.
