It seems to me that saving lives is more important than a point shaving scandal, yet do you think you will see Heroin legal in your lifetime?
No, yet I never thought I'd see gay marriage. And now it's like it always existed just 13 years later.

I don't like betting on sports teams I like anyways, so no problem w/ me.

I joined DraftKings yesterday and won my two bets. Jumped in Rangers +1.5 once the Senators scored (who said I don't like betting on teams I like?) and then have a player prop parlay w/ Rubio 9.5 points and Bane 11.5 points, which was an easy get. Today, I have Ricky Seals-Jones in for +3.5 receptions.

Moving forward, NBA player props are what I am mostly going to focus on, especially since starting lineups are so fickle, so I'll jump on surprise starters.

-> Already the new leader in sports betting, New Jersey may soon expand its gambling options to include Rutgers, Seton Hall and other college games.

It will be up to voters to decide on Nov. 2, along with another change to the state constitution that would allow nonprofits to use money collected from raffles and bingo to support their operations.

The sports betting question is the more consequential and potentially profitable for the state. It would expand the state’s current sports betting law at casinos and racetracks to allow wagers on “any college sport of athletic event,” according to the ballot language.

College betting was excluded from the 2011 referendum measure voters approved to allow sports betting in New Jersey because of concerns over game-fixing.

Legal challenges delayed betting until the U.S. Supreme Court allowed it in 2018. Since then, it's been a boon for the state. <-

Any one who uses any of the “legal” sports wagering places aren’t real bettors anyway. You get better lines and tax free wagering with no government oversight from your local bookie anyway

They probably have future bets for winning the entire tournament I’m not sure they offer final four but if you placed the future to win the ncaa championship you can hedge your position when the tournament is set to begin with the bets offered then

I haven't been for awhile but I only saw a bet to win the whole thing. I won Kemba's year at 35-1. Go the sports book in any casino, it shouldn't be tough to find the NCAA odds once you get there. Bet at the window, just like at the track.

Im 45 years old and while i dont smoke weed and havent for 20 years i can never recall a time when weed was difficult to get. Weed was never more than a phone call or two away even when i was in my teens. Its laughable to think these legislatures think theyre protecting anyone with their idiotic laws.
When I was in HS, weed (and other "drugs") were easier to buy than alcohol.

I live in NJ so I have not been able to bet against Rutgers for years now unfortunately.

But I can at least bet on UConn.

This has been a pretty standard policy as gambling has expanded to more states. Many of the states have instituted you can't bet on "amateur" competition within the state's bounds as a rule (NJ, PA, RI, etc). The theory to prevent people from inducing unpaid athletes to throw games. You obviously can't control what happens in other states and certainly if someone was really motivated it'll still happen.

This has been prohibited in NJ as well. There is a referendum on the NJ ballot to "allow wagering on postseason college sport competitions held in NJ and competitions in which an NJ based college team participates."

Per the referendum, of the 30 states that now have sports betting, 17 allow betting on in-state college sports.
I'm a bit surprised, but the referendum failed in NJ. The current law doesn't allow wagering on college sport competitions in state or games featuring N.J.-based college teams. The referendum would have removed those exceptions, but the state voted no pretty overwhelmingly (57 to 43). Maybe the bookies rallied their market.

But we love our bingo, raffles and 50/50s. The other question passed easily. The Constitution is amended to permit all groups that are allowed to conduct bingo or raffles to use the net proceeds from those games to support their groups. Currently, only veterans and senior citizen groups may use the net proceeds from those games to support their groups. All other groups that are permitted to conduct bingo or raffles may only use the proceeds from those games for certain purposes. I'm sure that law was followed and enforced.

Back in the 70's, I rode my bike to the local house of worship and played Bingo using my paper route money. Even won a pot or two. I was 12. Nobody GAS.

Bookies rallied their market. I love it .

I don’t get the resistance.

Especially since the "bookies" I knew liked to skim a point or so off the local favorites.

Someone has to explain this ridiculous rule to me. Why would we not be able to place regular season wagers on games with CT universities? But tournament games are fine?? What/who does this protect? Struggling to see the point of this.
Just for the sake of discussion, this exact feature prevented me from taking the points on FB against MTSU. it saved me $20.

So did this end up being fake news? No line available for tomorrow’s tournament game on fanduel.

CT residents cannot bet on UConn games. Some sort of deal that was made with legislature to OK sports betting. A dumb rule in my opinion.

Read the OP. You were supposed to be able to bet on UConn games when they are playing in a tournament of 4 or more teams aka the battle for Atlantis

The people writing these laws and regulations don't even know what a tournament is. They probably assumed there was only the NCAA tourney. And even then, I thought I read that we would be able to bet futures on UConn for the tourney, and not individual games with spreads.

I took us to win the BE regular season at +380. I like our odds.
