So what are you planning on doing more of these coming seasons? Any changes from last year, especially now with vaccines being rolled out? What are you looking forward to resuming or doing?

For me its finally visiting family members who are vaccinated. Will do the hotel thingy - road trip, now that my wife and I are vaccinated. Still not flying, unless necessary especially now with middle seats being occupied. Still no vacation(s) scheduled this summer, that may change. If so it would be more of the outdoor sightseeing kind.

Also I had a concert rescheduled (indoor), I think I can handle 2 hours listening in a mask. Its only 1 concert but that will do it for a while.

Golfed and Fished last year that will continue. Will also be taking the bikes to different paths around the State.

I will try and get back to some normalcy (with safety and awareness) and still avoid large crowds. Whatever is planned will be an outdoor theme, we were pretty much locked down last year this time, relegated to our backyard.

Want to go and stay in VT but their restrictions are strict. I know many don’t follow quarantine & testing requirements but they would require children to be vaccinated. I am getting tired of schools and states exaggerating CDCs requirements or recommendations.

Orange County for Golf with some buddies at the end of April. A week in Charleston in May with the wife. A couple weeks on LBI end of June with the whole family and several Soccer ID camps with my daughter that are spread over the summer.

Couple of family road trips. Still not flying anywhere. PA vaccination rollout has been a mess. Mrs. StillH8L8ner and I aren't even eligible but there are people who need it more than we do at this point anyway, so hopefully there will be a time when it'll be easy enough to walk into a CVS to grab some milk, a birthday card and a Covid shot all at the same time without an appointment.

Seeing family and friends in person. Going to breweries. I'm going away for the weekend for a bachelor party and all of us should be fully vaccinated by then, so that'll be good. My father and I go to opening day every year but we won't be fully vaccinated by then, so we're going to go to a game at some point this summer once we are.

Trying to make up for some lost Travel time...

Week on the Cape in June.

Week on the beach in North Carolina in July

11 days in early October to Vegas/Napa Valley

7 days in December at a resort in Antigua

Beyond that, just looking forward to connecting with family and friends, taking trips to local vineyards/breweries, and hosting people at our house. Have a few weddings and bachelor parties in May/June that should be a lot of fun.

Since I’ll be fully vaxxed covid is over I’ll wear a mask for social acceptance. I was in Miami last week I’m going to Mexico in June. I went to a live sporting event recently. Trying to play as much golf as possible.

Nothing planned, but lots of ideas depending on what happens.

Possibilities:
  • Visit in-laws and nieces in the Phoenix area. I personally hate the heat, so the idea I pitched is to have us all rent a house somewhere where temps are more moderate, maybe in the Flagstaff area or somewhere in Southern California.
  • My oldest niece is graduating high school and she hasn't been to the NYC area since my wedding and always wanted to. Her other aunt lives in Bay Ridge, so one idea is to pay for her flight over (and a friend too) and have her split time between CT and Brooklyn for a week.
  • We have over 1k in travel credits from Icelandair after our five-year anniversary trip got canceled. Prices currently are sky high in Iceland, but if they go down, we'll book a trip there for the summer. If they stay high, we'll go there next March Break instead.
For every day stuff, just looking forward to spending time with my family outdoors in the summer, hosting people, etc.

Down east Maine at least for a long weekend, maybe two. Plenty of weekends in Watch Hill, RI at a friend's family's beach house. Booked a trip to Mexico City for September that I'm relatively hopeful for. Might go to the UConn @ Vandy football game.

I am going to see the Black Crows. And UConn FB in Fresno.
Should be good trip to Fresno. Although it is hard to believe, I read yesterday that Fresno is the hottest real estate market in the US. I'll probably take a road trip to Clemson and maybe Vanderbilt.

Flying is a breeze and has been shown to be a very safe activity.

Aircraft air is cycled every 1-2 minutes and HEPA filtered.

Either you believe the science or you're blindly throwing darts at what you think is safe.
Any difference wearing a mask in the air vs ground?

Sometimes when I'm flying the oxygen seems low, and I breath harder. Not all the time and only temporary when it happens.

Haven't flown since the pandemic.

I think you mean Crowes, but who cares. They're back, again?! Loved them, but the love faded as Chris R got weirder.

Probably the first time in the history of the English language that this sentence has ever been written, unless someone was transcribing a conversation between two nazi gang members about to go on a meth run.
Or you like raisins.

Had a trip planned to Cooperstown with my dad in July to see Jeter induction. That was cancelled.
Had tickets to bring my family to see Seinfeld show at one of the CT casinos in July too. That was just cancelled.
So off to a good start. I will definitely golf a lot. Volunteering at the Travelers Championship at least 3 days and there will be some fans allowed again. Also renewed my UConn football tix so some tailgating in late summer is likely.
Then we will just see what the rest of the summer brings til I can get back into Gampel and XL for some games in person (hopefully)!

I mentioned elsewhere that I was super fortunate to get invited on a paid, guided fly fishing trip in Montana last year. Private lodge, great food & wine, open bar. 3 days floating on up to different 3 rivers depending on where fish are hitting. What's not to love! Cancelled due to COVID. They invited everyone back in June this year, and I'll be fully vaxxed. Tickets booked!

Also head back east to visit friends and family, but not sure what that looks like yet.
