Good, Bad, or Inconsequential for the good guys?

In my mind it’s actually going to make it a little tougher for us in 2024. Flagg and Cam Boozer can certainly play together at Duke but it doesn’t seem like they are exactly interested in playing with each other. They seem like legit rivals.

By reclassifying to 2024 that removes that the conflict of them and each becomes the clear #1 ranking in their class and 2025 and 2026 drafts.

UConn vs Duke will be a tough challenge for 2024. I think we have a good shot regardless. We need to manifest Flagg to UConn into existence lol

Dybantsa will very likely reclass to 2025 since he’s old enough. It makes sense for Flagg to go to 2024 so he’s not in a 3 way race for the #1 overall pick in the 2026 draft. The difference between first, second, and third overall pick is $3-6M which is significant.

I think the pressure is going to really be on these recruits to commit sooner than later. The ones that set commitment dates far out in the future may be left out in the cold.

I think the difference in where Flagg chooses college could be a $1M decision, let alone his draft bonus.

If we land Flagg, I want a bronze statue of Luke, Kimani, Tommy and Dan(backwards baseball hat and Jordan’s of course) standing together at the Peach Jam or some other tourney at the entrance of Gampel. Why? We as fans should remember this get every time we are just around the place!

The assistants should get flavors at the UConn Dairy Bar.

Even if he reclassifies and ends up at Duke, might that at least push Betsey our way?

I mostly agree.........except $3-6M is much less significant to the elite players than to most of us.
JC always pointed out to his players that the real money is in the second contracts. Their $3-6M will be spent on the porcelain finish on their garage floors.......among other niceties.
