I have seen Coombs listed at 5'8, 5'9, 5'10 and 5'11. My point is from what I saw from the video JRRRJ posted, she is a great player but looks like she will have her work cut out for her when she gets to campus. She looks like a 1 or a 2 which will be crowded in the fall of 2017.

Yes. We all know of whom you speak. She would be the nuts on top of the sundae. :D
I beg your pardon.

Crowded with: Nurse, Dangerfield, Bent, AEH, Coombs, Gordon, & Walker-Hopefully. 4 of who would be Freshmen!

Wondered who this Kayla Pointer is who is ripping through Coombs' team in the state championship. Seems she's ranked $14 nationally. Very impressive guard!

Kayla Pointer scores 30 points in the first three quarters of the game! Almost outscores Coombs' team on her own!! Wow! Coombs was good in this state championship game, but Pointer steals the show!

Coombs reminds me a little of another player who wore #3, the Winter Haven Flash, a.k.a., TipHayes.

FYI, I'm at Pat's memorial and Geno is here.
Curious to hear your thoughts about it. I would fully expect that Geno would be well received by Lady Vol fans. I know Pat would be well received here were the circumstances reversed.

I noticed that she's still growing very rapidly. By the time she gets to UConn she'll be another 6-4 post they'll need down the road.

Looking at the photo of her in between Geno and Shea Ralph from last year, I'm guessing much closer to 5'8.

Sure does remind me of Bria Hartley, love it!! To me this was a big get as I thought the roster was short a combo guard, now anyone else we get is really icing on the cake. That 2017-18 team could be something else!!!

"UConn began recruiting me when I was in the ninth grade," Coombs said. "Through my knee injury their staff continued to recruit me, building a great relationship. I feel I can grow as a person and as a player while being in Storrs.

Coombs, an explosive and acrobatic player with a high ceiling, tore the ACL in her left knee the first game of her sophomore season.

...

"My desire to pursue a degree in broadcast journalism and my proximity to ESPN studios in Bristol will hopefully open other doors for me," Coombs said.

Walker is a 2/3. With that said, Walker would most likely be ahead of any of the 2017 commits. Only issue for Walker if she wants to play right away and will be playing behind Lou (3/2) and Collier (3/4) for 2 years, and Nurse (1/2) and Gabby (4/3) for a year.

TBH, if Walker commits and all 4 of Coombs (2), AEH (2/3), Gordon (3/4) all come, it would not surprise me to see transfers in the future. Look at the 2014 class, Nurse (1/2), Edwards (2), Ekmark (2/3) and Williams (described as a 2/3 in HS, but a 4 now...).

Play with, not behind !! If you want to improve your game, you play with the best players everyday.

And she's in Norcross. I'll have to get out there to see her play.

Time for a 2017 Roster update

SR - Nurse (G), Gabby (F), Butler (C)
JR - Collier (F), Stevens (F/C), KLS (W)
SO - Camara (F), Dangerfield (G), Irwin (F), Bent (G)
FR - AEH (G), Gordon (F), Coombs (G)

Hopefully I didnt miss anyone. But I'm sure I will be quickly corrected if I have. :)

Nope you got 'em. 3/3/4/3, almost a perfect setup.

Mikayla's mom writes a supporting letter for the doctor who performed the ACL surgery.

ACL Injury: Mikayla's Success Story - Orthopedics, Spine & Sports Medicine
I think the dates mentioned in this article must be off by a year. This article says that the injury occurred in November 2015 and that the surgery was on the last day of 2015 -- only six months ago. But another article says that she was injured at the beginning of her sophomore year (which would have been 2014-15) and that she came back to play in her junior year. That makes more sense, and it means that the injury was in November 2014, not 2015.

2 scholarships left for 2017. I know who most want to fill one but any suggestion for the other?
