Besides being ecstatic about number 11, I think it also very fitting to send out congratulations to three really great teams who created one of the most unexpected and exciting NCAA tournaments in history.
All three teams went further than anyone expected. The ACC in what was a rather down year for were expected to be represented at the FF but no one expected the team to be Syracuse
The Pac12 having been shut out last year returned with a vengeance with 2 teams making it to the FF and surprisingly neither was Stanford.
Syracuse has had a long journey from obscurity and congratulations to the players who took a chance and Hillsman who has labored hard for 10 years to reach this point. They played a clean and fun game, they bit back at Uconn's dominant performance in the third quarter and played basically even for the second half. Lots to build on and good luck to them in the future.
Washington has also risen from the depths and play an absolutely unique brand of basketball headlined by the most unique player I can remember seeing in the women's game. They lose Walton but have Plum and Osahor to build with next year.
And Oregon State has the most unique rebuild of the three - from a team with 2 scholarship players 6 years ago and holding tryouts just to field five players to a FF is really impressive behind a D3 championship winning coach.
None of the games were close in the FF but the teams themselves were all intriguing and their journeys great for the growth of the game.
