By joining Big Ten, Rutgers did better than any school in college realignment
That was the Headline in the Sports section of the Star Ledger on November 19th, 2012 ... as the Principals moved towards the podium.
"They don’t give out a trophy for this, but there will be a celebration in Piscataway on Tuesday that Rutgers fans will savor for a very long time. Because, at long last, the Scarlet Knights have won a title. They are the National Champions of Realignment. Think about it: Who out there did better?"
What did they know and when did they know it?
Mike Rice was front and center on their minds - both the AD Pernetti and the President. The suspension was December 13th, a mere few weeks later. Was this a calculated chronology? Of course it was ... they did what they did for the obvious reason. The suspension was light as to not grab attention for it at that time; I'm curious whether Murdock just could not find anyone to present his case. If he suddenly showed up that week in November ... all Hell would have broken loose.
Smarmy typical NJ crap. And for those who respond that UConn should have been this devious ... in life "what comes around, goes around". I believe you simply cannot tempt Karma.
