Your accomplishment is harder than one thinks. I know.

I remember thinking I got hosed until someone posted the screenshot from ESPN of me standing on the court screaming in Brian O’Connell’s ear.

The security guards who walked me out thru the bowels of MSG couldn’t have been nicer though. We had a good laugh at my expense.

Warren Buffet has a saying “lose money for the firm and I’ll be understanding, lose reputation for the firm and I’ll be ruthless” paraphrasing but its pretty close - reputation matters for a brand or a person.

Reputation and perceptions matter that’s just the way it is
If this is your angle then analyze the takes and viral impressions on social media. It is a fun viral moment. To spin that into a negative as a UConn fan is very old man yelling at data-in-the- cloud.

To many fans no, not too big a deal. For Bouknight, he should be 100% embarrassed. He plays for an NBA team down there on tobacco road where UCONN doesn't have the best of reputations. If he isn't embarrassed for getting tossed from a UCONN home game then he has a lot of maturing to do and he is in danger of really screwing up his rep. It reflects poorly on UCONN and on him. He chose to leave (too) early and an NBA player should be above these antics.
Well he wasn't acting like Charles Oakley at MSG nor was he treated like Oakley either.

Wonder if he will be at the Villanova game.

Hopefully they walked you out through the Delta sky 360 club for a nightcap. One of the nicer parts of the bowels of MSG.

There’s only one thing that’s certain about this whole thing and it’s that Chief continues to be the weirdest narcissist on this board.
Knew it. Narcissist and a pansy is an interesting combination.

Was at the game. WAtched him a lot bc I couldn't figure out who it was but could tell he was someone important but couldn't tell who it was. Most of the game he was on his phone or getting pictures w/interacting with fans. Even with the little kids at halftime. He was not over the top or out of control like many have suggested. The most egregious thing he did..and what he got asked to move is seat, was for standing on edge of court on his phone. Some of you need to knock off the self righteous indignation and take a look in the mirror.
Sat across the way, and this post is a great example of all the distractions about this:
Is the ref a good guy- no idea
Is Bouk a good guy - no idea
Was Bouk in other players grills multiple times - Zero question
Was Bouk on the court during the game more than once - Zero question
Did Bouk deserve to be escorted from his seats - Zero question
Did Bouk turn it into a positive for many through the student section move - Zero question
Will fewer than 5 people care about this (outside this forum) in a week - Zero question

21 years old. I guess we have different definitions of "kid". Unfortunately he acts like one but should be more mature at this point. Harmless as it turned out but there's a reason why people should stay off the court. Where do the refs run up and down the court to keep up with pla? -Right where he stood several times. If they don't see him and trip over him, maybe not so harmless. Stay off the court!

You could venture outside the herd and check social media. The takes aren't as rosey and it's not good for UCONN.

Bouknight embarrassed the University of Connecticut on national TV.

The saddest part of the story is the Bouknight likely does not understand how ridiculous he acted and how he embarrassed himself and UConn. Sad.

As usual a boneyard thread has overstayed it's usefulness..can we lock this now please.

All the same points have now been made 50 times and just piling on.

Was at the game and him and the guy he was there with were acting like idiots all game. They got warned midway through the first half by the officials and security. Settled down a bit but then picked again shortly after. During halftime when Xavier was in layup lines they were on the court talking smack to every player that walked buy. It was so weird that I just assumed Bouknight knew the first guy they did it to because there was so much back and forth. But then ran by the next guy. And the next guy. Six or seven players in a row. Super weird. Then second half they chirped an official while on the court and we’re thrown out.

If old man is senior management in sport media then you are correct. its like none of you have ever been employed in any industry and especially not the sports industry.
But to be fair my company now works with HS athletes to avoid making spectacles of themselves in social media and in public. This will be an example when we speak to kids.

Its also why were working on a more comprehensive platform for all college coaches to peek at their recruits social media accounts in an essy to use dashboard format - if it didnt matter there wouldnt be a ton of interest in it.

Eh James deserved to be kicked out. He was walking on the court after a dozen warnings. I suspect he planned to get kicked out to get the students riled up
Was sitting a few rows back. He was on the floor gesturing at the Xavier bench. At one inbounds play in front of him, he got up and stood next to and said something to a Xavier player. The refs told him a few times to sit down. Not a good look.

What I hope young Mr. Bouk recognizes before it interferes too much with his career is no boss wants to give an employee big bucks if you can't trust the employee to accept authority. No matter how much people who will never have any authority think ignoring it is epic. Not a question of right or wrong -- it's a question of not damaging your reputation in a way that harms you.
All things considered, the market will eventually work its magic.
Thread is so weird between the weirdo opinions and that fact that some poster is a pansy and has blocked me from viewing their content, and everyone is responding to him.

I debated whether to logout and re-enter as a visitor to see his comments, but it's enough to 'meet' someone else who is blocked by him. The semi-cryptic clapbacks are familiar & fun.

Fwiw, he used the tail end of the Chat to warm up for what's likely here.

No I’m not measuring via the horde, I’ve got teenagers and college aged kids and gauging via their + their friends takes = Bouk went viral, is a bit of an attention seeker (but who isn’t on social media) but then turned it into a great fun positive by going into student section. For UConn fans to sit in judgement of the p’s & q’s of fan behavior and get mad that he tried to exercise his privilege reeks of ‘just entertain me but not allowed to be a flawed human’ mentality. I think the fun trip thru student section & those interactions is what resonates.

Friend of mine texted me that Bouknight got kicked out and I thought he was kidding. Who is the ref who did that? Ridiculous. I wonder what Bouknight said?
Without knowing who the guy in the hooded sweatshirt was getting the same ref's attention earlier in the guy, he appeared to ask or direct Bouknight to move back off the court at least one time. No clue whether Bouk was spouting off at the ref(s) and Xavier players, but I wondered what was up even before the guy was tossed (up to the student section ;) )
