Boston shoots over 70% from the floor for the 1st half and only are up by 2 - why? no defense
Boston is outscored in final 4 minutes of the game (again) - why? no defense, no rebounding and just really bad offense.

That would be the opposite of a choke job. Even as each game was happening though, it seemed the Yankees were going to lose each game.

That sounds similar to someone walking into a casino with $250 on him, getting in a ridiculous streak at blackjack, sits at a roulette table up $75,000 only to slowly lose all but ~$150 at which point he returns to the blackjack table,drops another $100 then calls it quits and says, "well, I only lost $200 after ten hours of gambling, that isn't bad".

If they hadn't treated game three as a throwaway game they would have swept the Devils. If they cared at all about defending their zone or taking care of the puck they would have won the series in no more than six games.

After the first two games, winning as easily as they did the bulk of the team acted like they shouldn't be required to work in order to win. In their own zone it appeared that they felt Igor could stop everything and in the Devil's zone there were too few instances where they did more than pass the puck around the perimeter. Too few Rangers (the kids, the fourth line players, Trocheck and about 40% of the time for Zibanijad and Krieder) played like they wanted to win.

What bothers me most is that we could have been a younger, deeper and faster team than the Devils. We were building to that and two summers ago changed direction, threw away a few first and second round picks for rentals and gave away two quality prospects for nothing, primarily to lose this series in seven games.

Nah no comparison here unless you’re a Boston fan. Sox were a real good baseball team as good as the Yanks in 2004 throughout the season. The Bruins beat the Panthers by 43 points in the regular season and had a 3-1 edge heading home after losing game 1. By far this is a larger collapse period, they were the best team in hockey all year. Huge gag…..

My Rangers just won games 1 & 2 10-2 and lost their series. Not too pretty either except they lost it to the team with the 2nd best record for the season. Hockey is over for me as well.

That was on Torre, the biggest example of baseball coaching malpractice ever. Up 3-0 with a rainout pushing game four back a day, somehow he runs out of starting pitching while simultaneously viewing games four and five as throw away games. The most egregious malpractice was Boston pitching inside constantly, moving hitters off the plate, to quiet the Yankee power hitters yet Torre refusing to do the same to Red Sox hitters.

If a baseball team was 16-0 to start the season and another in the same division was 14-0, which would be in first place? And how many games behind would the 14-0 team be in the standings?

Each win /loss is a 1/2 game
The 16 -0 team would have a 1 game lead because of two more wins. The percentage would be equal but used only as a tie breaker .
It’s irrelevant because rarely do teams play a different number of games when the season hasn’t been decided .
A 15-1 vs 14-0 would be a tie in games but the 15-1 team behind at.937% vs 1000% for the 14-0 team.
No baseball season was decided after 14- 16 games .

Run on Wakefield? Which game? He got tagged in Game 1 and took it on the chin in Game 3's 19-8 loss so Francona didn't have to sacrifice the bullpen.

He only allowed three baserunners over the final three innings in game 5:
1) Miguel Cairo ended up on 2nd after Manny misplayed a base hit with 1 out in the 12th.
2) 35 YO Sheffield reached on a dropped third strike, and
3) Posada was intentionally walked to re-establish the force play after one of Tek's (seemed like 36) passed balls in the 13th (Both Sheff and Jorge moved up again as well).

Either they didn't have to and have the opportunity to run on Wakefield. Besides, 'Tek gave them extra bases by not being able to catch the knuckleball.

The Yankees should have bunted and hit & run all over Schilling in Game 6. Though he fielded his opportunities cleanly.

No there is shame the season is a failure. You didn’t get Tarasenko and Kane to lose in the first round, credit to the Devils but the Rangers choked and this season is a failure. Didn’t put the Devils away and Rangers got what they deserved.

A playoff game? LOL don't play down the fact you hardly lost 4 games ALL YEAR and somehow after winning your last 15 of 16 and being the best team ever in the regualr season you lost 3 in a row to a team you beat by 43 points during the year. Dreadful considering. Again the Sox won the World Series after beating the Yanks let's see how the Panthers do then come talk to me LOL hilarious.
