Thought it would be KK after she terrorized Providence last week.

Shade’s scoring average not only led all BIG EAST freshmen last week but listed seventh among all league players. Her 3.0 threes made per game was the second-best mark. The Huskies have now claimed nine out of the possible 10 BIG EAST Freshman of the Week awards.

Familiar Faces Claim Latest #BIGEASTwbb Weekly Honors

Karlen was the BIG EAST’s top scorer last week, leading the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 mark with wins at Seton Hall and at home against DePaul. The senior averaged 24.5 points and 6.0 rebounds, shooting a blazing .760 clip from the floor – the second-best field goal percentage in the BIG EAST last week.

Seton Hall’s Richmond Repeats Player of the Week Honors; UConn’s Castle Earns Fourth Freshman of the Week

For the second straight week, Seton Hall guard Kadary Richmond has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week and for the fourth time this season, Connecticut guard Stephon Castle has been tabbed BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Both players sparked their teams to 2-0 weeks.

The award is for the best performance of the week. Paige did not perform well against Providence. Of course she is the best player in the league, but there are many very good players in the league also.

I think Paige has only one (?) BE Player of the Week vs multiple times by several other players.

Ice and Q need to step it up a bit. If they do the BE All Freshman team could have 4 UConn players on it.

If you look at the Honor Roll, and include Liza Karlen who got Player of the Week, you basically have most of the All BE first team with Paige, Lucy Olsen, Emma Ronsiek and Azana Baines. I would add Aaliyah to that group and yes, Nika too. Talk all you want about our offense and our pressure defense, Nika's job on Drake was "unique".

That will never happen. The BE has a long had a reputation for distributing weekly awards among member teams no matter how well UConn players performed.

There have been 10 Big East FoW awarded so far this season, 9 of those awards have gone to a UConn player. Both Ash and KK have four each and Q has one. That doesn't look like distributing weekly awards among member teams, that's UConn domination.
