Useful link - Contains links to the major college baseball polls (there are about 1,000 rankings floating around out there... they take 5) and add a composite ranking. The rankings in baseball tend to differ quite a bit (Houston is as high as 8 and as low as 16) so it can be helpful to compile them in one place.

As of right now, FAU is a top 30 team in just about every poll while Kennesaw State is still receiving votes. If both teams have a good week they should both be firmly in the top 25 or 30. Goes without saying that we should be big fans of both of these teams the rest of the way.

Houston is teetering around the top 10 but just lost at home yesterday to what appears to be a mediocre Houston Baptist team. Obviously anything can happen in baseball and with a Monday game there's always a chance Houston Baptist threw their ace for a shot at a big win while Houston used their 4 starter. They play top 5 LSU and top 15 Texas A&M this weekend so the picture should be a little less fuzzy come Sunday.

Wow I didn't even realize they were ranked so highly. Ranked 12 in the composite poll before beating Florida. They play a 3 game set with Columbia this weekend. If they sweep that you would think UCF would be top 10 in most polls (currently range from 9 to 18). Columbia has only played 4 games so far, all in a 4 game series in Houston which they split.

Houston dropped the games against LSU and Texas A&M so they still have yet to show much. I would expect them to roll through Sam Houston State (1 game) and Buffalo (3 games) this weekend. Should be 3 wins at an absolute minimum. Anything less and they're going to get hammered in the polls.

Meanwhile, UCF split two games with a great Florida team and took care of business against Columbia outscoring them 23-5 en route to a sweep. Always hard to tell early in the season when teams are not playing the same schedules but UCF seems to be making a push for the top 10 while Houston is in danger of sliding out of the top 25 if they stumble again this week.

NBCWA basically flip-flopped UCF and Houston --- UCF #12 (LW18) and Houston #21 (LW12)

UCF up to #6 (LW13) in the Baseball America poll while Houston slid all the way to 24 (LW8).

Houston also dropped out of the USA Today coach's poll while UCF jumped to 10 and FAU jumped to 22.

For SOS purposes, FAU is ranked around 20th in every relevant poll except Baseball America where they are unranked.

Houston rebounded with a 4-0 week to maintain their footing as a top 20 team. UCF with a solid 3-1 week pretty much moved up 1 or 2 spots in most rankings. We get both of these teams on the road this year... 3-3 would be a pretty successful record against them assuming things continue as they are.
