Wow! Kid runs a 4.36 forty. Are we still in the mix?
He's still visiting, and he retweeted one of Edsall's inspirational quotes the other day. My guess is that if the staff decides to extend an offer during the visit, he'll commit.

Barry Sanders was 5'8, 175 (4.4s 40-time) when he stepped on the OK State campus. By the time he graduated he added 25Lbs and ran a 4.37s at his pro day. He turned out to be pretty damn good. When you get a kid like this, and everyone tells him he can't do this or can't do that because of his size - watch out. These types of players end up lighting it up and end up extremely loyal to those that give them a chance. They're going to play with a chip on their shoulder 100% of the time.

There's a guy on the roster, #22, who has always been knocked for his size. He has a chance to end his UConn career as the school's leader in All-Purpose Yards. If my math is correct, Arkeel Newsome will enter 2017 with 4211 all-purpose yards.
