The idea of either UNC or UVA moving to the SEC requires a well developed sense of illogic, or sarcasm. That's simply not in the realm of reality anywhere near Chapel Hill or Charlottesville, but it is funny. Even NC State's a reach with their tentacles vapor locked on UNC's ...The SEC's most logical additions would UNC and UVA to get to 16.

It may be funny but I'm sure the SEC doesn't think so. Geographically I don't think there should be any doubt that those are the two states they will be targeting. Out of the 4 schools of UNC, NC St., UVA, and VTech they will get a VA school and an NC school in order to reach the entire Southeastern U.S. I don't even think they would be interested in going to 16 if they can't get a foothold into NC and VA. We all know that in these battles, the stronger conference will win. The SEC is a much stronger conference compared to the ACC and when it does try to raid the ACC, I don't see it leaving empty handed.
The SEC won't expand beyond fourteen until after the BCS bowl participation limit of two schools per conference is lifted but they will expand within minutes of this.
Clemson is a Public South Carolina University - Not a Private.Stronger how? Not in basketball, and that's what UNC cares about most. Not in academics, and that's what UVA cares about most (and UNC second most). Neither school would consider denigrating themselves with the SEC schools they look down their noses at. NC State, maybe. VT, possible, but doubtful. Clemson, GT and FSU are really the only other fits, and they are in existing SEC states. I'd even doubt that Clemson really wants to be only the second private school in the SEC.
I stand corrected. You'd think I'd know this, since that's where I wanted to go to college when I was in high school.Clemson is a Public South Carolina University - Not a Private.
Clemson is a public school, not a private one. It was a land grant agricultural school in its inception just like UCONN and VaTech. By the way, I think NC State would go in a New York minute if asked by the SEC. They would love to get out of the shadow of their more presitigous brother...

Stronger as in makes more money for itself and its members.
I would suggest that that definition of stronger has never been absolutely determinative and that in the wake of Penn State, is probably diminishing as a consideration. The ACC is the stronger basketball league and academic league. It offers stronger regional associations for any team in NC or VA. It has better TV markets, especially where several of these schools recruit students. Money is just one of many factors to consider.
Are you sure that UConn was a land grant school at its inception? I'd heard that the original land grant designation was given to Yale, & only later wasit changed to UConn.
