Nothing crushed. It happens. Have to think Sully is low in the bullpen totem pole though
I’d like to see Sullivan get some more opportunities the last few games of the regular season. He was a real weapon last year so hopefully he can get back on track

The coaching staff likes Sullivan better in a starting role rather than coming out of the bullpen.

Bottom 4th, with no out UConn offense puts 2 runners in scoring position with the aid of an infield error. Dalena drives in both runners with a no out double, 5-4 UConn.

Bottom 5th, First 2 UConn batters draw no out walks. With 1 out Studley with a fielders choice ground out to drive in a run, 6-4 UConn.

Top 6th, Hofstra with a leadoff double. Coe gets a ground out for the first out of the inning, then comes out of the game. Fogell comes in to pitch with a runner on 3B. A 1 out single brings in a run, 6-5 UConn. Fogell gets the next 2 outs to end the inning.

We are into the meat of our pen. No need to hold back with Butler on deck.

Getting late into the game, have to think that none of the big relievers are going to go long enough to really put them out of the Butler series.

Top 7th, Fogell leaves 2 runners on base, a nice defensive play by Daniels. 7-5 UConn. Fogell at 31 pitches, will be interesting to see if he stays in for the 8th inning.

Some of these singles are on really good pitches. Nothing you can do except to field the ball and avoid freebies. When you do that, with our offense's ability to put up runs in a hurry, it makes life on teams like Hofstra and Rutgers very difficult.

Top 8th, Devin Kirby comes in to pitch. After a leadoff hit by pitch, a 1 out RBI single makes the score 8-6 UConn. A wild pitch puts the runner at 2B. After Kirby gets a strikeout for the 2nd out, he comes out of the game, and Justin Willis comes in to pitch.

Hofstra is pretty good. Nice read by the baserunner to tag up on the Morton fly ball to put himself in scoring position & come around on the single. Their pitching stinks but if they can get a couple transfers or recruits they might challenge Northeastern and UNC Wilmington next year.

Still a game we should win.

3 outs away and their bottom of the order will come up next inning. Feeling pretty good but an amenity or 3 would be nice.

Hofstra is currently at 118 in the RPI, not bad at all, especially for a midweek game. Wonder if UConn will try to get them on the schedule for next season as well.
