We were smacking MAC teams around even before we joined the BE. This program has fallen off the face of the earth.

Amazing to see we were down 20-10 and didn't completely fold.

And that's part of the reason UConn is in the predicament it is today. A persistence in totally ignoring the passing game and relying on 1950s run football is not attractive to today's athlete. They want to play in high octane offenses with fan going crazy (not Zzzzzzz). Ultimately UConn couldn't recruit with the big boys and the come in with too many Central Connecticut State - type athletes particularly on offense.

I'm waiting on the LOL or the just kidding part of your post. This is the reason we're in the predicament we're in now? Seriously? Cause we up Buffalo a few years ago til they were punch drunk? This is a serious post really?

Oh and one more thing. Donald Brown, Jordan Todman, Will Beatty, Donald Thomas, Scott Lutrus and others say 'hello'. Central CT talent. Stupid ass comment

We are where we are now because we hired a coach that shouldn't have gotten another job after Syracuse fired him. A more passing offense doesn't really work if you don't have the QB to run it (which we've never had) or the right coaches to apply it and motivate the team. Their is some talented players on both sides of the ball on the field right now. When you lose a team kinda like Rich Rod in Michigan only worse, you won't win no matter the offense.

I'm glad someone brought this up, because it demonstrates the contrast in the program past to current.

For those who remember, that Buffalo team was good with some excellent athletes. They jumped on our Huskies early and the UCONN response was simply to physically beat the out them.....literally. Two things I remember about that game. A Bull's slot receive running diagonally across the line of scrimmage on the snap and Reggie knocking him out.....again literally. When the kid came to, he started jawing with Reggie and Reggie looked at him as if to say "best you sit this one out". The other thing I remember is Buffalo unable to keep defensive personnel on the field the second half of the game. The UCONN OL and Donald Brown were just too physically punishing.

We are so far away from that right now it is sad. Teams lined up against Edsall's Huskies and they knew they would get a good physical effort. Now?......folks.......our guys left their balls at home yesterday and I don't think this coaching staff has a clue how to help these guys find them.
