Saw these two yesterday. Nebraska is a terrific flick and Bruce Dern is great. If he weren't competing for the Oscar against Matthew McConaughey who will probably win, I can't see anyone else who could have been better.
Gloria, on the other hand, a Chilean(?) film which has won a bunch of film festival awards. I dunno. The lead actress has won a bunch of awards for the role, her name is Paulina Garcia. She's a woman nearing 60 and is trying to live her life the way she wants. A really quirky movie, unless you love seeing some totally full monty copulation scenes of flabby older folks (I'm older than the main characters in the flick). Maybe it's that the structure of the movie seemed totally European, with scenes that seemed to intrude in the movie, and characters doing things that didn't make sense at least some of the time., but maybe the subtitles lose something in translation. The Lego movie has to have more going for it, but then again, I'm not Chilean.
