This is exactly what he said the other day. If Karaban leaves they’re looking for a “development guy” at the 4. I don’t know why people put zero stock in what the people who are actually making these decisions say they’re going to do.
I think you're significantly underselling the potential of this team. And I can't imagine why you think it's aspirational for Hassan to play like Taliek next year. With all due respect to Taliek.
This seems like a weird narrative to push when they haven't broken a sweat yet in the playoffs. Seems like the kind of thing to revisit if they actually lose a series and he's bad.
Bronny is not coming to UConn and he shouldn’t come to UConn but the fact that you’re even asking #4 means you have no awareness of the kid, what kind of player he is, and the attitude he’s shown so far in college. Because the answer to #4 is a resounding “yes.” You don’t need to take...
I suspect the twists and turns of his career are what people find interesting more than his actual personality. I know a guy who played golf with him and he said he's actually a fun guy to hang out with, as long as you're cool with a hypercompetitive guy relentlessly belittling you for four...
This is not intended to be an insult at all but I think you're the first person I've ever heard say Jordan had a better personality or is more "interesting" than Lebron. In my opinion, the reason people of a certain generation prefer Jordan so much over Lebron is because Jordan has never...
This is not even remotely true but their aspirations for their athletics programs are not the same as they are at P5 schools. I know plenty of alums who contribute to the programs they played at but they do so to make them competitive among their peer group.
It was made pretty clear in that interview that no one else is coming unless Karaban decides to stay in the draft and even if that happens Hurley made it sound like the most likely addition would be a development guy at the 4 spot.
That's not really an issue for Alex though. He's not going to be a lottery pick or even a guaranteed first rounder so the depth of the draft class is immaterial. He can definitely put himself in a much better position to catch on with a team next year if he blows up a bit next season.
Edit...
I have a colleague who's a UCLA guy but knows the Maheny family and he's been raving about how great this kid is - on and off the court - for years. He's on the bandwagon now, too.
Sure you can. NC State needed a buzzer beater for their season not to end in the ACC tournament and they went to the Final Four. This team, with or without Karaban, will be a hell of a lot better than they were.
Betsy never gave any indication at any point in time to anyone that UConn led for his services. Never. The people - like the poster I was responding to who is wrong about literally everything and wanted Newton benched in the Final Four three weeks ago - who just assume every kid who goes...
Ok this makes sense now. You didn’t realize this was a board comprised of UConn fans. I always wondered what the ufck you were doing here because all you do is post dickish nonsense from time to time.
“Homer” is about the stupidest insult I can imagine throwing at a fan on his own team’s...
Fenway is an amusement park these days. No one cares. The days of getting beaten up in the bleachers for wearing a Yankee hat are long gone.
My serious advice would be the same as it is for everyone: don't go. Maybe an empty stadium forces Henry to sell the team.
I guess when you explain that the options are maybe some people buying headband shirts or in the alternative absolutely nothing happening it is extremely dumb that he hasn’t put out a statement.
Right, except for the fact that no one has said he’s not a good basketball player. It is, frankly, far crazier for you to be thinking he’d be a fit for the program.
Not sure it constitutes "going off" to say we'd be better off passing on a me-first bricklayer who supposedly caused locker room issues but . . . . go off, I guess. Like I said, some of you have a very weird sense of what a roster should look like.
Mahaney's not tiny. I don't know where that comes from. He was also first team all WCC so I can't imagine 10 minutes a game in the Joey California role would be that compelling for him.
