Uconn pursuing Landan Word

Landan Word, a 6-3, 225 pound outside linebacker of Gonzaga High School (Washington, D.C) is being pursued by Uconn along with Virginia, Duke, N.C State, Pittsburgh, UNC, Boston College and Penn State according to Dave Lomonico of Hoonation.com. The class of 2016 recruit took a visit to UVA and said it was pretty much his “dream offer” due to his father being a former star himself, Virginia running back and 1985 ACC Player of the Year, Barry Word. He said he wants to “help the team win a championship” in his upcoming Junior season, while also becoming “more technically sound and stronger.” Word said he is still wanting to hear more from Connecticut, North Carolina and BC, as well as other schools that are recruiting him and considers his recruitment wide open.
