UConn in the NFL – Week 5
Week 5 had a number of our former Huskies sitting out due to injury, and added another two to the list. Donald Brown left the game against NYJ with a concussion. He pretty much got clotheslined down to the ground, and was clearly shaken up on the play. His status for next week is unknown, although it looks as if he won’t be playing. Jordan Todman left Sunday’s game with an ankle injury. Reports out of Jacksonville expect Todman to practice Wednesday, so it doesn’t seem to be too serious. Todman saw more snaps than any other Jags running back, but was only given one carry that was negated by a penalty. The Jags backfield is not lighting it up, so I’m baffled that Todman doesn’t get more of an opportunity to carry the rock. Maybe going forward, he’ll get his chance. Once again, the play of the day came from Danny Lansanah on his 2nd pick 6 of the season, intercepting Drew Brees and running it back 33 yards for the score.
