Ryan Griffin Signs With Houston Texans

Former UConn tight end Ryan Griffin is no longer an “unsigned draft pick”. The Houston Texans official site says that Griffin,a 6th round draft pick, signed with the team on Friday, May 11th to undisclosed terms. He joins former Husky receiver Mike Smith on the Texans roster.

Trevardo Williams, who was taken in the 4th round by the Texans, remains unsigned. However, an item on the official site on the rookies’ mini-camp participants states:

Fourth-round pick Trevardo Williams “was exactly what we thought,” Kubiak said Sunday: “Tremendous speed. He can really run.” Kubiak said the UConn outside linebacker “is a little ahead of Montgomery,” who struggled with stiffness in his back, and that “settling them down at one spot, letting them compete, will be the key.”
