Here’s a bunch of recruiting updates that have came out within the past few days. We are going to be hearing more and more about players lists as we get into the players AAU seasons and start talking to reporters more.
Class of 2014:
Ahmed Hill: He plans on cutting his list sometime before or during November. He continues to mention UConn is going after him hard and it looks like he may be one of the staff top targets. Ahmed is an elite shooting guard.
Abdul Malik-Abu: He told Rivals “After the second live period, I may cut my list down.” His list is very long right now as he has schools offering him weekly. Right now he said “Florida, Iowa State, Kansas State, UConn, Providence, Maryland, St. John’s, Duke and Wisconsin,” are coming at him the hardest. This so very good news as I haven’t seen much with him and UConn lately. This may also help us with 2014 SG Jared Terrell. Abdul is a power forward.
Jared Terrell: The supposed package deal with Abdul Malik-Abu may have gotten harder for UConn lately. Rodney Purvis is transferring in for the year he would be coming. UConn’s pitch to Terrell may have to change if Purvis can’t move over to the point guard spot effectively as he would like to. Terrell is a shooting guard.
LJ Peak: He has an unofficial top 5 of Ohio State, Florida, Connecticut, Florida State and South Carolina. He’s not down to only these school right bow but these are the few that are standing out to him right now. He also recently took an unofficial visit to USC. He looks to be one of the staffs top targets. Peak is a shooting guard or small forward.
Daniel Hamilton: It looked like the staff had cooled off the Hamilton brothers since they backed of Isaac, who committed to UTEP. It’s still unknown if he is going to attend the same school as his older brother but he recently said that UConn, USC, and UTEP are recruiting him the hardest. Hamilton is a small forward.
Class of 2015:
Moustapha Diagne: He has offers from Oregon State, UConn, La Salle, West Virginia, Cincinnati and others. Plays high school basketball at Pope John XXIII in New Jersey however, he’s playing his AAU ball with CBC this summer. He’s a power forward.
Tyler Dorsey: An elite combo guard in his class recently said that USC, UConn, Arizona, Louisville and Florida have offered with good interest coming from Michigan and UCLA. Many other schools will be inquiring about him and offering him this summer.
Class of 2016:
Vance Jackson: He may end up being one of his classes top players when class of 2016 rankings come out. He recently received an offer from UConn and said they were his leader at that time. Now he’s saying UConn, Arizona and Washington have offered and Kansas, UCLA, USC and UNLV are showing strong interest. He’s a small forward.
