Carlton Bragg Has A Huge List
|The 6’10” 218lbs. combo forward has become one of the hottest names in the class of 2015. He has appeared at the top of many top colleges wish lists and will surely stay there until he decides what college he wants to attend. This is all due to his play as a, “3[small forward] and stretch 4[power forward]. I play something similar to Paul George and Kevin Durant,” Bragg explained.
As of now he has offers from Ohio State, Arizona, Maryland, Michigan State, Texas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, UCLA, Rutgers, NC State, Penn State, Akron, Georgetown, UConn, Louisville, Cleveland State, Cincinnati, Xavier, Indiana, Dayton, DePaul, and West Virginia. He also has interest from the likes of Michigan, Duke, Kentucky, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin.
Bragg also told me that he has visited Kentucky, Louisville, West Virginia, Cleveland State, Illinois, Ohio State, and UCLA. When asked if he had a visit to UConn or any other school planned right now he responded, “No visits yet. I’m planning on visiting when I get a chance.” Carlton Bragg also stated that he has no leaders right now, “No one. I’m just in the process of getting recruited. I’m going through the process.”
I also asked Carlton about UConn specifically and what his relationship is like with Ollie and his staff. To that Bragg said, “I haven’t talked with them in a bit but we stay in touch here and there.” After talking to Carlton I asked his mentor, Michael Graves, about UConn in his recruitment and he told me that someone from the staff was planning to be in attendance to watch him this past Saturday. Saturday was also Carlton’s birthday and many coaches were planning on watching him then. Graves later confirmed to me that coach Moore was in attendance at his game on Saturday where he scored 22 points and nine rebounds. Bragg also had this to say about UConn, “[I like] their chemistry and how they play together.” He then also added in, “And them colors, I love em'”
Throughout our conversation he mentioned that his relationship with the coaching staff will be a big factor in his decision. He explained what he wants his future college coach to be like, “Just a good coach. I have to see how they coach when things are going good and bad. I just want a team that runs. I love running up and down, I love fast paced games.” Some other things that he mentioned would be big in his decision were, “Campus life, team style of play, and how the coach does when things are good and bad.”
Due to everything he said I wouldn’t expect a commitment any time soon. He will likely take all of his official visits and also take plenty more unofficial visits. It will be interesting to see what schools continue to prioritize him and if other schools, such as UConn, decide to do the same.
