If this any indication it looks Ollie is not winning COY, which baffles me.

Win out and I think things might change.

Jay Wright is laughable. He did such a great coaching job in that loss to Columbia and losing by 20 to Bama. (I know only BE games are suppose to count, but come on.)

Because the political sentiment says that a member of the "old guard" should get the final COY Big East award in the last season of its relevance. Not some new kid on the block.

We need to destroy gtown to drive this point home. Ollie has us looking like the best offensive team in conference

I think JC should get it for old times' sake. Makes as much sense as Dixon.

Buzz lost his two best players to the NBA, and has the team near the top of the conference, he has as good an argument as anyone.

Let's not get too excited about the Big East Coach of the year stuff, huh. While Calhoun, Boeheim and John Thompson and Rollie and Lou Carnesecca have all won it, it has also gone to such unforgettable coaches as Louie Orr, John McCleod (quick, who did he coach?) Brian Mahaney. Mike Brey has won it twice. In what universe is Mike Brey coach of the year not once but twice? FYI the BE coaches of the year in 1999, 2004 and 2011 were:1999 Leonard Hamilton, apparently for getting Miami to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournement, 2004-Jamie Dixon (apparently for begining the tradition of Pitt gagging up a hairball in the NCAA tournament), and 2011-the afore mentioned Mike Brey, for reasons known only to God, though at the time, some suggested that his selection had more to do with his fellow coaches trying to say his job than his actual performance as the Irish alumni were getting somewhat tired of his teams spitting the bit in big situations. This is an award that is given as much for politics as performance.

I see you've already created your stance now in the case that KO does win one in his first few years, it was simply a political choice. Got to stay ahead of the game, your trolling skills are top notch.

What is Jamie Dixon doing on this list? Pitt had much higher expectations than UConn yet they are behind us in the BE standings. That makes ssense

Dixon and Wright are a complete joke. Their teams are right where they were supposed to be and they have had zero adversity in season.

Looking at the preseason list, depending on where teams finish, I can be okay with Wright or JTIII. If Marquette wins the title outright (they won't), I can be okay with them. UConn's got four games left; they'll all be tough. But if they're at 11 wins or over, i think KO should win it.

Wright solidifying his COY candidacy, Nova lost to an awful Seton Hall team on the road tonight.

This just highlights how bizarre Dixon being in consideration is. He's doing what was expected while having a deep and veteran roster, basically 2 deep at every position, and he's getting serious COY consideration, unbelievable.

I think the problem is the coaches forget who they placed where in the pre-season polls - I'm not even joking. How else could you explain Dixon being in the mix? And Villanova losing to Seton Hall tonight should bury Jay Wright's campaign. In my opinion, it's between Ollie, Thompson, and Williams.

So if PC wins out and finishes 7th; Cooley isn't in the mix?

Yeah. There goes that. Winning that game wasn't important; losing that game was devastating.

So, 18-12 (10-8)? They were predicted last in the conference....

I don't think he gets the votes, but it's a compelling argument. But Cooley--like KO--is a bit premature. If UConn were to lose out, 9-9 isn't bad, but it isn't COY. At the end of the season, though if they finish above .500, it wouldn't be unreasonable to see his name thrown out there.
