- Great start by the good guys. 4 minutes in, up by 11.
- Zags woke up and our lead was down to six at 12 minutes.
- Johnson goes down under the Zags basket, and doesn't move for a while. Out and to the locker room. Hope it's not a concussion. Was encouraging to see him on the bench for the 2nd half. Seemed to be looking and acting normal.
- Halfway through the 1st half. AK Put up a 3 and missed. Badly. Can't recall ever seeing him miss everything before.
- Magic bucket by Diarra at 7:07 Absolute prayer as the shot clock was about to expire.
- Going 7 minutes without Solo after he picked up his 2nd foul limited us a bit.
- 3 pt lead at the half, and the game is statistically about as even as it could be.
- 17:32 mark of 2nd half, Diarra comes up with another fantastic play -- this one off an awful McNeeley miss.
- Singare getting some tough offensive boards in a crowd. But when he passes out to a three point shooter, they are blowing the jumper. I think Dan Hurley and crew need to find him more minutes, because he's going to be needed at some point during the season, whether due to injury or fouls.
- Another highlight reel play by Diarra at about 17:33 in the 2nd half, when Alez attempted a 3, hit the front of the rim and the ball cam straight back to Diarra streaking in at the foul line. One bounce, a spin and a gorgeous layin amongst the trees.
- I cringe every time Mahaney comes in the game. I just don't see him as being a UConn caliber player.
- The 55 all tie at 11:51 turned into a 60-55 lead at 11:11, and it grew to a 10 point lead by 10:08. THAT felt like UConn basketball. If only they could have kept it going.
- How did Diarra manage to not fall out of bounds backwards with a minute to go and then get the ball to AK for what felt like the most important layup of the game?!
- 21% (5/24) from 3 is not going to win us a lot of games.
- NO doubt Liam was the POG. It won't be the last time. Managing a 26 point night when his 3 ball wasn't falling (5 of his 6 missed field goals were from 3) along with 8 boards, 4 dimes and only a single foul.
- We were without Johnson for most of the game, and might as well have been without Alex (one dime and 8 points on 3 for 10 shooting).
- On the other hand, Diarra had as productive a 5 point game at the point as I've seen in a long time. Three highlight reel type plays, 7 dimes, 3 boards and a couple steals.
- Gonzaga held a one point lead for 45 seconds. in the first half.
