My guess is Julie Hermann doesn't need the media attention to turn back to Rutgers so she keeps Flood for another year. After they get destroyed in the B1G next year then he's done.

That's not what the article says. It says "If Flood is fired between now and Feb. 1, he is owed an $850,000 buyout"

Rutgers athletics is in flames after buying out a basketball coach and AD plus the University is dealing with the UMDNJ merger, which is a +$100 million albatross. Most folks I talk to in NJ are resigned to the fact that Flood stays unless they find a private donor(s) who can cover the buy-out and search costs.

the buyout is only 850k, they should just pass the can around on Saturday. That should get them at least halfway there.
