    Interesting report.

PDF: Report Details Unfinished Work At Dunkin' Donuts Park

The link brings you to a PDF file that outlines everything that still remains incomplete and provides picture support. The report is as of 5/25 and it looks like nothing is "complete" yet. When you see the pictures, consider this park was originally "supposed to be open" back in April. Wow.

Have they buried the ceremonial first body under home plate yet?

We need a "Hartford sucks" mega thread. Just to see how many views/replies it would get.

I don't know about a Hartford sucks thread.

Specific to this stadium project the parties involved took a simple task that is literally done successfully every year throughout all types of urban, suburban and rural environments and completely ed it away.

It takes a giant village of idiots to screw up building a MiLB baseball park. And they succeeded.

definitely need to get those helicopter landing pads operational before the stadium opens - considering the stadium is completely surrounded and deep within hostile territory, the only way they'll be able to supply it is from the air. The Hartford Yard Goats at Khe Sanh Stadium

Well Deep, I'm happy for you. Looks like your dream of blocking baseball from Hartford is coming true.

Until we can walk abroad and recreate ourselves, until we can stroll along the streets like boulevards, congregate in parks free from fear, our families mingling, our children laughing, our hearts joined -- until that day we have no city.

If this is what CenterPlan thinks 97% looks like, I can't imagine what they'd call 50%.

It is unbelievable how bad the situation in Hartford was already, and how FUBAR this fiasco has made it:

Such a shame. Expect the litigation to drag out on this.

I really think the ballpark could be a boon to Hartford. Hopefully they can get the full season in next year. I wonder if the 84 redesign will be as SNAFU'd?

It doesn't look to me that the Civic Center renovation is going happen, nor should it frankly. Hartford is incredibly 'snake bit' or perhaps just epically mismanaged.

Nice shot of the city with ball park in foreground. It will be interesting to watch the empty lots around the stadium fill in.

For anyone with accurate insight, what were the reasons to position the seating facing out to little to nothing versus to something potentially more attractive, e.g., city skyline, downstream river?

It is usually sun. I think if you faced downtown, hitters would be staring at sunset most nights.

Rational reason (except for pitchers) - thanks. In that case, downstream v sort of towards the old dump's lovely rolling hills ...

Single tickets go on sale March 13th FYI - If you plan on attending the inaugural game I would mark that date down.
