Honesty can be a hard pill to swallow. Love Geno for this! The entire team, coaches included need to take inventory. The talent seems to be there, the integration of the parts results in too many poorly connived breakdowns. We're playing down to the opponents in large part due to poor starts and lack of runs. Concentration???? Seems like the team is on remote with a heavy pass first mentality. The TV view shows too much pointless passing and failure to shoot open shots. We are mechanical. Look like a team at practice. How a team shifts to game time from that is a mystery to me but perhaps playing to a 15 second shot clock might help. Move the ball toward the chance to score, not forever side to side. Our offense is tunnel vision, easily scouted. Our ball handlers need to create opportunities beyond a pointless pass to a player not in position to score. Many times CD posted up well and deep. Our ball handler never got her the ball instead continues to pass the ball around the 3 point line. When the shot clock runs down we have too many players that have the ball in their hands who are not natural scorers. We need fewer passes and more determination to score early in the shot clock. Why let the defense set up? We don't seem to play a pick and roll any more but surely got burned by it a number of times in this game even with two of our best defensive players involved. A coaching adjustment might have helped here.
