Or maybe tell them to have Eric and Tarris take a few more. 🤓

‘Tell the coaches’ or ‘then maybe y should coach’ is the equivalent of ‘your mother’ when I was 12. It’s what y say when y have no data or can’t think of a counter. lol
I’m saying that if our vaunted coaching staff thought he’d lost the ability to shoot, he’d either not be shooting or not be playing. That isn’t the case.

You can take that however you want to

Name3PT3PTA3PT%
Silas Demary Jr.2451.471
Malachi Smith1532.469
Alex Karaban42103.408
Jayden Ross1436.389
Braylon Mullins3592.380
Jaylin Stewart1543.349
Eric Reibe412.333
Solo Ball41143.287

40.4% w/o Solo in there. That would be 5th in the country, mainly behind a bunch of mid majors & Iowa St. Needless to say if Solo shot anywhere close to last years numbers, we'd be very close to top in the country.

He shot 31% in 24, 41% last year and 28% this year. The ‘24 + this ytd attempts are just a bit below last year. So y could say he’s got 1 year at < 30% and another at 41. Which is the real solo? Was last year the anomaly or is this year? Can he get hot…obviously. Is it guaranteed…no. Is it likely…who knows?
He shot over 40% for a season and 3/4 consecutively.

I’m talking about 3 pt shooting. He shot over 40 last year. He’s at 31 in 24 and below 30 this year. Not sure what you’re talking about

There is no shot I don’t want him taking. Kid should have a full green light.
That is nuts. He’s 5 feet in from midcourt and open…..you want him shooting that?

.-.
You literally said, "I'll take Mullins quick shots..." because he makes non-insane-quick-shots. The one thing has nothing to do with the other. If Mullins cut down on the insane shots, he'd probably be shooting 45-50% on threes instead of 39%.
I was thinking of just how he shoots. He has a super quick release is what I meant

I doubt he'll take many of those going forward, but if he's feeling it, I'm game. I want that kid owning the floor.

I am talking about 3 point shooting.

What are you even talking about? He's obviously not taking shots from 16 feet behind the three point line and being set up for catch and shoot threes 16 feet behind the line.
How about > 30 feet ? He has absolutely taken multiple ill advised threes from 30+ feet.

I agree that every shot from 30+ feet is ill-advised. Unless being shot by Shabazz Napier.

There's no way to explicitly filter by >30 feet but I tried to estimate it and looked at the shots yesterday. On shots behind this line he's shooting 6/16 so at exactly the same as his overall 3P%. It might not look pretty but it's not hurting at all.

This is such a common fan habit, wanting to see if some deep bench piece is an upgrade meanwhile the coaches see these kids daily and know what they have.
I'd say that is a very small percentage of the people who want to see a bench guy play. Many, like me, are genuinely interested in seeing kids get a chance to "strut their stuff" in live action. I can't remember a single person who says that Millender is a better option than Malachi(or Silas). The habit of winning close games kept the bench from getting any significant minutes. So, would love to see all the bench guys on the floor for a couple of decent stints before the rotation goes into "lock down" 7-9(?) man rotations for the rest of the year. Husky basketball fans, not Hurley wannabes.

That's sad. I was at games in Gampel, Hartford, and Maui in 2023-2025 where he and Alex were asking the crowd to get into. Me and my wife would implore the fans around us to get into it more and some of them did and some didn't. I wish the fans were louder and more raucous like they were in the 90s and early 2000s or hell like in the Villanova game in 2022 when Hurley got kicked out of the game in the first half.

Now that was special..............

Can the refs do this after a game is over? Suppose a braul happened after the clock ran out. Are penalties assessed in the next game, like setting out a player?
Rod Sellers was penalized in the first game of the next season after he massaged Laettner's cheek with his elbow..........

There's absolutely some posters who want Millender getting Malachi's minutes.

.-.
No, you were right. Hurley didn't just pull that thought out of nowhere. There's gotta be something behind what he said, I'm just not sure how much weight should be put on his comment.
I like to watch players' expressions and actions on the bench when someone on the court does something good. If Reibe is still enthusiastic and appears happy to be here, great. If he's stoic it wouldn't be a good sign.

Thanks. That makes me feel a little better though knowing when to shoot and when to head fake is part of the art of the game. I don't recall was it late clock so he really had no choice?

I realize it is unlikely but it would be a cool story for Millender to come out of nowhere and earn some real minutes. He just seems like such a nice guy. Everyone seems to like him. I learned last night that he is the commissioner of the team's video game league. I suspect if he could step up, it would not be hard for his teammates to get behind him and feel inspired. I like to root for the likeable underdog.
Maybe some are hoping he'll become this year's Joey California.........

Actually if it is truly 0% (and not something like 0.0001% rounded down to 0%.

I guarantee you the chance of specifically having a Lincoln head come up on a coin flip of a legit quarter is 0%. It is impossible
Even if the probability of something is truly 0%, that absolutely does not mean that it is impossible for it to happen.
AI:
In mathematics and statistics,
an event with a 0% probability is not necessarily impossible; this distinction arises primarily in continuous probability distributions. While an impossible event always has a probability of 0, an event with probability 0 can still occur if the sample space is uncountably infinite.

Dan's Reibe comment was just about the draft, telling him to go slow and develop for another year. This year's draft is pretty stacked I don't think he would go high this year. Starter next year and being featured will boost his stock etc

For what it's worth, using the data available through collegebasketballdata (which is missing a few attempts), Mullins is 0 for 1 in shots from 30+ft (@Creighton with 4 on shot clock). using that same data, I've binned his 3 pt shot % by distance the results are below:

Not sure this helps, but thought I might add it in here in case it does

Impossible things have a probability of 0%. But not everything with a probability of 0% is impossible.
