Interesting that the boys lost to Canada in the quarters. I caught a bit of an earlier game and the broadcasters were all about "gold is their goal." Hadn't realized how much they'd struggled....

I saw a bit of the end of the game... lights out... helps make us appreciate that the women do so well, it isn't simply ordained that we have enough talent that we ought to win them all.

Thanks ochoopsfan for the nice summary. I wasn't about to get up at 2:30, when I couldn't even watch the game. I didn't think about the fact that for you it is late, not early.

The next game will be on TV, have it set to record.

I am glad there aren't anymore late night games from Russia. Maybe from Lithuania coming up for the U19 team, but those games are supposed to be streamed on FIBA TV

Here are a couple of stat sheets
Lineup Analysis. Shows minutes each group of 5 girls were together and also a +/- for points they outscored opponent or were outscored. Interesting to see who works well with who. If you notice this coach doesnt play 2 bigs together very often.

I am not that young anymore to be up to 1:15am and be in work by 7am the next day. Thankfully its Friday. Thankfully I love the game too. :)

Sounds like a slow start for the women, but they got it in gear eventually. Kaleena being in foul trouble likely didn't help our efforts in the first quarter.

Top scorers: Kaleena and Bria.

Top rebounder: KML. Most minutes played: Bria.

And Hartley and Sims were the leaders in that new and intriguing FD (fouls drawn) stat.
