I mean it's kind of a fungible conversation. Would certain guys be this good without the injuries? For sure - no. Could we have been better had we not been so snake bitten? Yeah, probably. At the end of the day with the injuries we're waaaaay too short handed and our margin for error is zilch. But even without them - we're just a fundamentally flawed team given our roster constitution. We are too thin up front. Gaffney has really helped stabilize things at the point, but we don't have a significant difference maker at the point. Gilbert is built like one and *can* run the point, but like Jalen Adams last year - he's more comfortable off the ball. And we lack consistency from guys like Adams to make our back court a real difference maker. That - and getting back to the talk we've been having all year - we have a lot of guys who've been asked to play outsized roles who have to impact games in ways that they're not really built to fill. It's not me saying 'they suck' so much as we don't have the pieces to be able to leverage what we have in the best possible way. Next year with the additions to the roster? Well now we don't need Polley to be running guys off screens to be open - he can be more of what he is - which is a spot shooter. Carlton can be used more selectively - but more specifically with his back to the basket and hitting bunnies rather that being the dude who has to set high screens and crash the basket. Wilson doesn't have to play the 4 constantly. Like all those guys will be able to play and do the things they do well - and only do those. Given what we've got this year though - we've done remarkably well in a lot of ways - and aside from a few dirt nap performances - we could easily have won 20 games this year.
