We've discussed good pizza a great deal, but what was the worst pizza you ever experienced? Mine was a friend's 8th birthday party on February 24, 1982. The area I grew up in wasn't exactly known for impressive pizzas, but wherever his parents got these ones from had no business making pies. The pizzas were thick, gelatinous, cold in the center, and the sauce looked like something out of a glue stick and tasted half as good. The toppings were crusty, bone dry, and kind of off-color. Fortunately there were lots of other snacks to fill up on, so I didn't have to go beyond the one slice I forced myself to choke down.

Mystic Pizza is pretty bad

I have to agree. I'd had the frozen version many times and it was okay. I was pretty excited to finally try the real thing at the restaurant but it tasted exactly the same. They had good fried pickles though.

Pizza Pub in Centerbrook, CT. Hideous.

Also in Centerbrook is Centerbrook Pizza. Greek pizza straight from the 70s.

And you know this from experience?

It's a shame you're not old enough to have enjoyed classic elementary school paste, definitely a thing in its day.

I was born in 1974, so there was paste a plenty in my early educational days. I didn't much excel at cut and paste projects though.

I've been to both. I'd rate Centerbrook as worse though, but they do have some good subs at least.

I had Domino's last night for the first time in decades. Not years. Decades.

Emergency food need in Fairfield. I am waaayyy to old to have done that. It was the only post midnight option. Circumstances were admittedly dubious. Pizza was god awful. Never again. I am shamed.

This place near our house. My kids won't even eat it. I know the owner but I just don't have the heart to tell him how awful his pizza is. I got a salad with grilled chicken there recently and he asked me why he never sees me in there. I just couldn't tell him the real reason.

Spare Time (still Vernon Lanes at this time) in Vernon used to do All U Can Bowl and All U Can Eat Pizza for like 10 dollars from 8-Midnight on Thursdays. The pizza was so bad but I’d eat like 10 slices in my youth.

Man, I have a soft spot for Domino's. Literally lived on it and Thumper's nickle night buffet for 3 semesters back in the day. Haven't had it in years but I remember it being so good when it was hot and still pretty tasty up to 2 days after sitting out unattended and uncovered.
