That’s a whole lotta suck there.
I voted ‘Other’ as SMU is the team that initially popped in my head. I admit I haven’t seen much of these teams so I could be wrong.
Yes there was stiff competition to get on the nominee list. Northwestern and Purdue, among others, need to try just a little harder at stinking.

BC got the nod, as my wife turned on the game and the first thing we heard was that BC had the lead (3 - 2) for the first time since January 4th. That is a whole special awful.

Penn State sticks out to me as awful as well.

I've seen most of these teams this year, but BC sticks out to me as the worst one by far. Half of their roster doesn't even look like it belongs in D1, let alone a P4. It has to be tough becoming a "feeder program" for more competent P4 teams, but still. Wake Forest has become a feeder program for the rest of the ACC yet they do not, in any way, shape, or form, look as bad as BC does.

.-.
I look at Penn State and wonder how they can be that bad with Gracie and (very talented but possibly disruptive) PG Kiyomi McMiller

Penn State isn’t the worst P4, but it’s egregious that they played themselves onto this list when they have two solid talents (McMiller and Gracie Merkle). At least most of the other programs have bare cupboards.

Pitt has a few okay players (Mikayla Johnson comes to mind as a 6'1 guard), but they are one of the worst coached teams in the ACC. The same school that employs Dan Fisher (volleyball coach) also employs Tory Verdi. Something's not adding up.

Was curious about the biggest dead wood P4 school based in the three 'money' sports - MFB, MBB, WBB.

ACC - BC stood out immediately with their 1-7, 2-5, 0-10 conference record overall 3-22 so far, tied 17th, 13th, and 18th. Pitt and Wake were DQed because of their football team (6 wins/4 wins) - SMU not even in the conversation because of both men's teams.

Big 12 doesn't even have a contender for the title - closest is Colorado at 1-8, 2-6, 5-4 followed by OK State at 0-9, 2-5, 6-3 - both DQed by the women. The really bad WBB teams are DQed by good men's teams.

Big Ten - Penn in strong contention with 3-6, 0-10, 0-11 tied 13th, 18th, 18th - 3-27 overall. Rutgers 2-7, 2-8, 1-9 is a distant 2nd, and Maryland 1-8, 1-8, 5-5 is DQed because of WBB.

SEC - doesn't have a contender though Arkansas with their 0-15 in MFB and WBB looked promising, their MBB team is nationally ranked at 6-2. The bad WBB teams are redeemed by one or both men's teams and visa versa.

I think to date Penn has to be awarded the Moneyball P4 Deadwood trophy. (And does anyone want to bet on them winning any of their remaining games?)
