Working the refs works

Loved seeing Hurley all over the refs from the opening tap. We didn't pick up two or three ticky tack fouls in the first minutes like we have in the past few years. That makes a big difference. That Hurley energy has tangible as well as intangible benefits.

In each half against Morehead we had 3-4 fouls before the first TV timeout. Some of the ticky tack variety. Jalen sat until the under 11 timeout in the second for picking up his 3rd 90 seconds in. It was good to see a coach work the refs and bring that fire, but Morehead was in the bonus (Uconn called for its 6th foul) with13:30 left in the game.

That was because of our overplay on defense. Last year we were in a zone. Those fouls in the Morehead game were pretty legit. I don't recall a single WTF call where even the announcers noticed it.
